I am what you would call a typical small town Canadian. I was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, and spent the first eighteen years of my life in a tiny town called Port Hardy, located on the northern end of Vancouver Island.

I played organized sports with the same people for around ten years, and those people have become life long friends; this is where my passion for sports comes from. Hockey will always be #1, with the Vancouver Canucks being my favorite team, but the NFL is quickly becoming something that I follow very closely. My favorite NFL team is the Kansas City Chiefs. I'm somewhat of an MLB fan, choosing to root for the home country Blue Jays over the more local Mariners.

I have been fortunate enough to travel a little bit in my first 25 years of life. I have been on safari all over the beautiful country of Kenya, stood beside the pyramids in Egypt, spent a week in Guadalajara, and lived in the Mexican city of Monterrey in the summer of 2010. Each place that I've visited has left a lasting footprint on my life. Travelling always makes me realize how important it is to experience new cultures.

I moved down to the Victoria area a year after I graduated high school, and it took me awhile to figure out what it was that I wanted to study. I dipped my feet into the business administration pool, but my first accounting course quickly steered me away from that path. I was always told that I was a good English student, and decided it was something worth pursuing. At the beginning of 2011, I received my English - Associate of Arts Degree in Creative Writing from Camosun College. I've since launched my own blog and become a contributor at a few different websites.
